HOMEGROUND (SUTTON HOO - THE LOST TREASURE) - BBC 2
PRESENTER
This episode drew the largest audience in the series history,
and during the making I fell splatt, into a field of cow pats.
Completely covered right along my left side, I still needed to
do two links, (right side on), and at the end of the shoot, I
had to drive home (two hours on the M25), stinking, freezing and
hungry - showbiz eh!
THE BIG BREAKFAST - CHANNEL 4
GUEST
Interviewed by both Johnny and Denise about the compositional
shortcuts in Eurovision. The item ran eight minutes instead of
four minutes, and as the interview started Denise Van Outen purred
"George, before we start I must say, you're a bit of a Fox"
- eat your hearts outen! As a matter of interest, d'you know what
the Big Breakfast fee was? It was a BIG Breakfast, the full monty
with everybody around a couple of big tables
JAMESON TONIGHT - SKY TV
MUSICAL DIRECTOR/BANDLEADER
The very first flagship show on Murdochs brand new TV network
(circa 89/90) from Soho's Windmill Theatre. 350 hour long shows
presented by Derek Jameson with co-hosts Annabel Giles and Shane
Ritchie. Every turn on the circuit ended up on Dereks sofa
Jodie Foster, Robert Maxwell, Jenny Agutter, Kenny Everett, Susan
George, Jack Dee, Brigette Nielson and Yehudi Menuhin, Joan Collins
to name just a few. Each show had about a dozen walk ons, jugglers,
comedians, singers, end of part one music, theme tune, end credits
and sketches. My band comprised of the best players in the country/world
and the whole experience armed me up with some corking back stage
stories - Carry On Chatshow!
DAVID LETTERMAN - NBC
GUEST MUSICIAN
Took a three day sabbatical in New York with the production team
on the biggest chat show on the planet. It was during Lettermans
